We understand you may have questions about starting language learning later in life. Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions.

Am I too old to start learning a new language?
Absolutely not! Our courses are specifically designed for mature learners, and we have students ranging from their 50s to their 80s. Adult brains are excellent at language learning, especially when the teaching methods are appropriate. Many of our students find language learning keeps their minds sharp and provides wonderful social opportunities.
What if I've never learned a foreign language before?
Most of our students are complete beginners, and our instructors are experienced in teaching first-time language learners. We start with the basics and build confidence gradually. Our supportive group environment means you'll be learning alongside others in the same situation.
How much homework is involved?
We keep homework light and optional. We understand that many of our students have busy lives with family commitments. Any practice we suggest is designed to be enjoyable rather than burdensome - perhaps listening to French music or watching Italian cooking shows with subtitles.
What happens if I miss a class?
Life happens, and we understand that. We provide catch-up materials for any missed sessions, and our small class sizes mean your instructor can easily help you catch up in the following lesson. We also encourage students to support each other between classes.
Do you offer any social activities?
Yes! We regularly organise cultural events such as French café mornings, Spanish tapas evenings, and Italian film screenings. These social activities are a wonderful way to practice your language skills in a relaxed setting and build friendships with your classmates.
